Over 100 exhibitors on the show are selected by the LBE Advisory Council, a rotating group made up of the best artists and studio representatives in the business, and they all come from top companies, schools, and studios worldwide.
PASADENA, United States, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of renowned young artists from around the world and thousands of visitors showed up Saturday at the LightBox Expo (LBE) 2023, held in Pasadena, a neighboring city of Los Angeles.
The LBE, which lasts three days from Friday to Sunday this year, is an event for talented young artists and creators who work behind in the entertainment industry to share their work with the public, including films, animation, games, TV shows, and illustrations. They can also sell their products directly on the scene.
David Colman, an Emmy Award-winning designer and story artist with clients including Disney Paramount, Sony, and Universal, sold T-shirts with self-designed graphics at the show.
"The income is pretty good, I'm already in a profit margin, it's worth the time for sure," he said, adding that more artists from China, Japan, and South Korea took part in this year's show.

Liyang Liu, a 32-year-old Chinese designer who lives in Oakland, California, told Xinhua that she felt so excited to be selected by the LBE and show her works, Lolita-style garments which are very popular in her online shop.
"Not all products are Chinese style, but some Chinese characteristics will be fused in the design," she said, adding that the annual show provided a unique platform for culture exchanges, including hundreds of programs, hands-on experience, presentations and more.
Clients and buyers are more likely to accept designs with some Chinese style, said Yingzong Xin, a character designer at Pixar, who was named by Forbes as "30 under 30" in 2022.
Joseph Iovescu, an LA-based Mexican-Salvadoran American painter and illustrator, said he hoped more young artists would participate in the event.
"It's just a great way to learn about new artists from everywhere," he said.
