Guangzhou has officially launched the 100-day countdown to the 2025 International Airport Expo, set to take place from September 8 to 11 at the Canton Fair Complex. The event is expected to bring together global aviation stakeholders for a major industry gathering in southern China.
At a press briefing held on May 30 at Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, organizers unveiled the expo’s emblem, flag, and mascot “Yangyangtong (羊羊通),” a nod to Guangzhou’s nickname“Goat City” and a play on the Chinese phrase for “all-round connectivity (樣樣通).”
The 2025 International Airport Expo will, for the first time, adopt a "3 Conferences, 5 Exhibitions" format, combining high-level forums with cutting-edge industry showcases. Key events include the ACI Airport Experience Global Summit, the 10th China Airport Services Conference, and the UK-China Joint Economic and Trade Commission’s Aviation Working Group Meeting—each bringing together industry leaders to discuss the future of global aviation.
On the exhibition side, five themed sections will highlight the latest advancements across the sector. These include innovations in airport services, state-of-the-art civil aviation equipment, breakthroughs in engineering and productivity, the integration of aviation with tourism and sports, and the development of new air logistics and airport-based economic models.
Advanced technologies, such as AI for flight scheduling and passenger flow predictions, as well as digital twin airport platforms, will be on display, along with demonstrations of cross-sector applications in tourism, e-commerce, and cold chain logistics.
Agreements were signed during the launch event between the China Civil Airports Association and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, and between the airport and the Canton Fair.
The International Airport Expo is positioned as a strategic platform to showcase China’s civil aviation advancements and the Greater Bay Area’s growing role in global connectivity.
