The pier of South Sea God Temple is located at the east side of the river, south of the Bathing Pavilion of the South Sea God Temple. One end of the pier is the relic of the Ming Dynasty, and the other end is the relic of the Qing Dynasty, in front of the Paifang of “Peace and Calm”, the front gate of the South Sea God Temple. These two relics are preserved as the original shape.

The South Sea God Temple is a venue for the imperial court to worship the South Sea God since the Sui and Tang Dynasties, which is also an important witness of the maritime silk road on the South China Sea. The pier of the Qing Dynasty found in front of the temple, the pier of the Ming Dynasty in the west of the temple by the sea, the Officials-Reception Pavilion, and the state highway, as well as the Northern Song Corridor found in the north of the pier of the Ming Dynasty and the Free Life Pond of the Ming Dynasty, are all witnesses of the geological change of the South Sea God Temple in history.
