About: Liuxihe National Forest Park is one of the ten National Forest Park model units and one of the first ten forest parks established with the approval of the Ministry of Forestry. It is located in the northeast part of Guangzhou City, 93 kilometers from downtown Guangzhou, with convenient transportation. The Park has a total area of 8,813 hectares, including 1,146 hectares of Liuxi Lake which has a water storage of 3.6 billion cubic meters and a depth of about 70 meters, providing 70% of Guangzhou residents with drinking water, so Liuxi Lake is also known as the mother lake of Guangzhou. The Park is situated in the subtropical zone with mild climate, ample rainfall, abundant resources and species. The annual average temperature is 20.3 ℃, with an average maximum temperature of 31.9 ℃ and an average minimum temperature of 11.8 ℃. Due to the high mountains and thick forests, plus the natural beauty of lakes and mountains, the Park presents an unique natural environment.
