Introduction: Har gow is a kind of traditional dumpling of the Han nationality in Guangdong and belongs to the Cantonese cuisine. It is allegedly originated in some tea house at the suburb of Guangzhou where was affluent in fishes and shrimps. The delicious dumpling with shrimp, pork, bamboo shoots as stuffing got famous quickly. As the ingredients were improved, wheat starch instead of rice flour was used for the dumpling wrapper, and one dumpling contains one or two shrimps so it can be eaten in one bite. Har gow is of pleated and half-moon shape. As the standard, there shall be twelve pleats on the wrapper. It tastes umami, smooth and very delicious.
